What is the best non-composite Little League baseball bat?

I’m hoping there are some Little League people out there…if there are, you probably know that Little League International put a moratorium on the use of composite bats, and have approved very few models (so far) for use in play this year. I purchased an approved composite model for my son last month, and today it broke at practice. It will be a while before I can get it replaced under warranty, so was hoping to pick up a regular metal bat (much cheaper) for him for use at practice. Does anyone have an opinion about the best model or models?
