What would taking AdderAll or Concerta do to someone who is extremely stressed and who has a lot of things on their mind?

Recently, a distant family member had a lot to deal with and never told her parents. She could never concentrate while studying and her parents noticed this and thought she had ADHD. They went to the doctor and the doctor agreed on the diagnosis that it probably is ADHD and told her to take some drug like Adderall or Concerta. The next thing what happens is in two or three days she breaks open emotionally saying all sorts of things. It was evident that she was very stressed and anxious by the way she acted. Basically she was always stressed and always had a lot of things on her mind and there were a bunch of stressors in her life. She felt like the drug just sent her mind in overdrive with all her thoughts and tension and she had to take a few days off to pull herself together.

So would a drug like Adderall or Concerta really mess with your mind when you are under heavy stress and have a lot of things on your mind? or was that an isolated case?
