Do peeps have different flavors?

I always thought that different colored peeps tasted the same, but now I’m starting to doubt myself. I’ve found the pink ones to have a bitter aftertaste, and the orange ones to just taste funny. Is this just a psychological phenomena (like thinking that different colored m&m’s taste differently) or is there a real explanation? Perhaps the food coloring causes a taste? Or is it intentional?
