Could an allergy sufferer benefit from having a tonsillectomy?

I’m 22, and have regular allergies. I’ve been taking zyrtec for almost a year now, and they help with almost all of the symptoms.

Some days I get a scratching, itchy feeling around my tonsils which I’m sure is caused by my allergies.

I’m wondering if this is happening because of the allergy irritants that go through my nose, and down my throat… (gross, right?)

Anyway, as a young child I always had doctors comment on how large my tonsils are. And now I’m wondering if maybe I should have them removed.

What does everyone think?
