Why are people getting so much lazier by the decade?

I can’t help but notice how lazy people are getting. I walk into my classes every single day, watching people scurry to get things done, or just blow everything off. I know modern technology has basically taken over the world, but whatever happened to work ethic? Don’t people want to be better than the generation before them? I was raised to work hard at everything and now that I look around, I feel like I’m putting too much into what I do. A lot of people in my generation party, do drugs, have sex, and don’t care about their futures. It disturbs me greatly!
