Why are razor blade refills so darn expensive?

I’m sure I’m not the only person who’s noticed this. Are they really hard to make or something? Are they made of platinum(the only reason they would cost so much)? Or is it just plain and simple supply and demand, the company just taking advantage of the fact that here in America people are willing to pay an arm and a leg for razors so they won’t be hairy?...
