How do you store your quilts and blankets long-term so they are not damaged by age?

I have quilts, afghans and blankets in a cedar chest. I recently heard that cedar, although it is great for repelling bugs, is highly acidic and will stain fabrics that are stored in there long term. I also learned you should not wrap the fabrics in plastic.

So then what to do? How do you store your blankets and other fabrics long term so that they’ll last for decades to come?
