Car Insurance, what do you pay? :-/?

Asked by Scooby (10294points) April 7th, 2011

It’s that time of year again, I’m starting to get invites through the post by the dozen, from car insurance companies trying to entice me with their “LOWEST OFFER EVER”……… well I’ve done my homework & I’ve found the best deal for me..

Fully comprehensive cover.
Travel accident plan
Free legal assistance.
Free breakdown assistance, anywhere in the EU.
Three months personal accident cover to the tune of £120,000 Tax-free.

Cost £ 28.17 a month…… over twelve months
:-/
That’s about $45.95 in USD

I’m curious how this might compare to prices over the pond?? Or wherever you are?

What do you pay? And for what? Do you think you get value for money or are you constantly having to pay more year on year?

This quote for my car beat last years plan by £97.32 UK / $158.75 USD

Incidentally the car I’m insuring is an 02 VW Passat estate (station wagon in US speak)

I know this question has been asked before, some time ago but things might have changed?? :-/
