How would you describe your engagement between the worlds within and around you?

When I was younger, I was avidly interested in current events.  However, it was the world around me as opposed to the world in which I had an active role.  Conversely, countless times in my life I’ve been deeply engrossed with my inner-world, oblivious to current events except for the occasional headline. At this point in my life, I’m noticing another integration starting to take place between the worlds within and around me. I see myself allowing the two to meet, and using the energy to act instead of casually observing.

How present are you to the world around you?  To the world within?  Does presence come easy to you, or is it a challenge?
