What or who do you wait for, anxiously?

Sometimes I’ve been in a lot of states of anxious waiting. Usually they had to do with whether someone I liked was going to like me the same way. I’d wait on calls or emails, and it would be horrible. Most of my anxious waiting has been for women.

Right now I’m waiting for an email. Not from anyone in particular. I just want an email. I want to know that at this exact moment, someone is thinking about me. I know there are people out there who are thinking about me, but I don’t know who they are. So I watch my email, just hoping someone will write soon.

Is there someone or something that you have waited for, anxiously, many times? Who or what? Why did you have so much anxiety?
