Am I making a mistake by asking questions on Fluther?

I sort of like asking questions that will get people talking.
Truth is , if I wanted to know how to change a tire, I would read the manual.
But there is a distinct downside to asking questions.
Some people really take it personally, and take their frustrations out on the OP. In some cases, me.
Hell, I don’t want to be unpopular.
So I am thinking I ought to be like my hero, @lucillelucillelucille
She doesn’t ask a lot of weird questions, but she anwers a lot of them. Usually with intelligent, humorous, short quips.
Also, she is popular around here.
Should I get out of the question business?
