How do you get beer out of a plush/stuffed animal?

Hello All,

I had an unfortunate mishap today and spilled a glass of beer on my boyfriend’s beloved stuffed lion that he’s had since he was born. The tag says to pat the area with a damp cloth and gives no further instructions. That’s not really going to cut it but everyone has said not to put them in the washer or take them to a drycleaner. Does anyone know how I can get the beer smell out of this old thing and make the fur look a little fluffier again?
