What is the active "get me high" chemical in the legal weed substitutes?

My friend came in from Florida with a couple packages of what he calls legal weed. There is no THC in it but I can verify that it definitely gets you high. It’s not like the high I remember from marijuana, but it’s doing something.

Makes me feel fuzzy brained.

I’ve never heard of this stuff before and I’m shocked that it’s perfectly legal in some states. Well, ok I tried it, and it’s… well, ok I guess. The buzz is not my style. I’d rather have a martini.

But what’s in it? Is it bad for you? It says on the packaging that it’s intended as an aromatic potpourri.

He brought in Head Trip, which made me lose my balance to the point of not being able to stand up. It was awful and lasted for two hours from one pipe toke. The other kind was Mr. Smiley Face and it was much easier going all around. I can’t believe this stuff is legal. I certainly wouldn’t want people on the road with it. What is it?
