Do you often find yourself reading more than one book at a time?

I’m in the middle of a book that I really enjoy but my book club at work started a new one and I’m very anxious to start it! Gotta get through the first though, or I’ll never finish it!
Can you read two or more books at once and not lose interest or never pick up the original one? Do you just plow through and finish the first one so you can start another?
