Why do I have to fast before a gallbladder ultrasound?

I was told not to eat after 10:00 tonight. But I slipped up. I had ham and mashed potatoes. The baby had a craving! What was I supposed to do? Will this have a big impact on my ultrasound tomorrow morning?
