Is it weird that I itch everywhere?

Occasionally, my whole body itches, at the most random moments. Like, my arm would itch at one second, then my ankle, the my ear. But in certain inervals. Right now, my ear is itching like crazy.
Is it like a nerve spazzing out in your skin that is making it itch, or is this a normal-ish thing? Is this a problem?
