Difference between career as a juvenile vs. adult probation officer?

I’m a college student hoping to work as a probation officer one day. During the summer of 2012, I’ll be participating in an unpaid internship at our Department of Probation and Parole working with adults. However, I’m planning on doing volunteer work in the meantime at our Department of Juvenile Justice in probation. So, I’ll be getting experience in both juveniles and adults, but I’m curious what the major differences would be between the two as far as the career would go.

I know the pay is pretty much the same, but what differences are there in day to day responsibilities? Google has been no help to me.
