Will plants near a window covered with a solar mesh shade suffer?

These shades are made of the type of material frequently used in cafés and restaurants. They allow natural light in, and keep out the UV rays to keep rooms cool and furnishings from fading.
I’m wondering though, how will this affect houseplants? I’m thinking they will be fine, since some plants do well with artificial light alone. What are your thoughts/experiences?
