Is it illegal to kick a 15 year old dependant child out of the family home in Australia?

I know there’s some aussies on here. My ex kicked our 15 year old son out, he texted me saying its cold, rainy, and he has nowhere to go. I’m still stuck over in the states and don’t know if I should call the police there in our town or what. He doesn’t want me to call his dad because his dad will get angry at him. I am going to bring him here I guess until I can leave but I can’t do it over night? Is there an agency or something I could call?
