What's the best year for movie SCORES?

I’ve seen a lot of people comment on what year was the best for movies – 1939, 1953, etc.

But I’m looking for the year in which movies had the best scores written for them. Just to be clear, a movie like “Pirate Radio” which includes a bunch of great songs on its sound track, but had nothing written for it is NOT what I am looking for.
