Does it annoy you when people claim that the most recent earthquake / volcano / heat wave / flood / whatever is a sign that it is the end times?

It annoys me because you can ALWAYS find a point in the last 150 years (when we actually started keeping records) when it was worse…and that’s just recent stuff. We don’t have any wide spread records prior to 1850 or so. So people saying things like, “This was the worst flood since 1935!!,” and don’t realize they’re blathering, annoy me.
