How many sclerotherapy sessions do you think it would take to treat a 22 year old with mild to moderate spider veins?

Hi Jellies,

Since I was about 12 years old, I’ve had an embarrassing problem with spider veins and since I was 18 it’s been getting noticeably worse. They run in my family and I’m terrified that my legs will look like my mother’s someday!

I’ve tried to prevent them by maintaining a healthy weight, putting gel pads in my heels and not crossing my legs as much (harder than you think!) but they seem to keep popping up. Lately I seem to be finding new ones every month, especially since I’ve started running again.

I’ve decided I’m sick of being self-conscious about my legs and I want to do something to improve my body-image. I’ve been considering sclerotherapy injections and often services like Groupon and Lifebooker run specials with reputable providers in my city where I can actually afford the service.

But I’m wondering, should I purchase 1 or 2 sessions? Thankfully, I don’t have any varicose veins (yet) but I have quite a few small spider veins on my thighs along with some larger clusters of them on the back of my legs. Would 2 be overkill or would 1 not be enough?

At this point my leg is kind of like the picture on the left in the link below. Well, not quite that bad yet but definitely heading in that direction if I don’t take action soon!
