I keep hearing a rumor that passing a kidney stone hurts worse than labor. Is it true?

Obviously the only people who are qualified to answer this question are females who have gone through labor, from beginning to end, without the benefit of drugs of any kind at any point in their labor AND who have passed a kidney stone. I have gone through two labors with no drugs at any point, and I can’t begin to describe the intensity of the pain, but I have never passed a kidney stone. Therefore I am not qualified to answer this question. But I keep hearing this rumor over and over again.
