How can I print text in a way that it will look 3D through 3D glasses?

I am writing a paper for an English class, and was thinking of experimenting with printing the text in 3D. Perhaps if I printed the text in blue and then adjusted the paper so it would print in red next to it or something? But how would I properly adjust the paper? Is this even a possibility?
