What can you tell me about Chattanooga?

As some of you know, I work as a traveling street musician. I had the crazy idea to go to Chattanooga for the winter to try my craft. I know nothing about the place, other than the song.

Is there any sort of arts community? Is there a nice main st. with locally owned shops? Is it possible to find housing? Are there current street musicians? Are there a lot of tourists? Will people laugh a Massachusetts girl out of town?
