How do you respond to a guy that honks and yells "Hi, you're hot!"?

Ignore? Smile and say hi back? Run away as fast as you can? Give him your number? Does it make a difference if he’s hot or not? If he’s gorgeous, is it possible to respond positively without looking like you’re desperate? Or, should we never encourage such behavior?
