Why was the United States most to blame for the Cuban Missile Crisis?

I am trying to write an essay on why the US was most to blame for the Crisis. I need to have at least 2 compelling arguments and at least 2 supporting details for each, along with at least 2 facts. So far all I can think of /research is because of the failure of the Bay of Pigs invasion and because the US was overly confident in their ability to overthrow communist Fidel Castro.Can you point me in the right direction of some websites that would help me support my arguments?Any additional info would be so appreciated.
