What cleansing system is best for personal hygiene for a woman ?

What’s the best way for a woman to wash down there? I went to the doctor today and she said “Dove Unscented” is best to use to clean down there for a female. She said using douches and soaps weren’t good because of all the perfume it has, and using too much would irritate the skin. What’s the best wash to clean on the outside? I was thinking of the stuff they sell at Target would be good? I just know not to get something that has a lot of perfume in it, or meant for body wash. Thanks.
