Why do I suddenly find my zipper down all the time?

I’m only 49 years old and feel fairly chipper and more than half witted most of the time. But as of late, the past few weeks, it seems like I forget to zip my pants up.

I usually discover my open fly after grocery shopping or a trip to the hardware store, post office. It’s always right after a public outing (so to speak). I get out of the car, stroll up the sidewalk, and in putting the keys in a pocket, I discover my fly is fully open.

This has happened a dozen or more times in the past month. Now you’ll see me strolling the strip constantly checking like a self conscious dirty old freak. I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all.

Why is this happening to me? Could I be using too much fabric softener? Is this a sign of senility?
