Are there any programs you can download to your computer that is intended to be used as a journal/diary?

I like to keep a journal/diary, but these days I hate to hand write. I still want to have one to write in, just on the computer. But I dont want to use something like MS Word. I’m looking for something that I can lock other people out of as well.

Are there any journal/diary programs I can download to my computer that have nothing to do with the internet?
