How to survive in a dustbowl?

I live in a very hot, very dusty part of my country. Moving to a different home is not an option at the moment. How do I reduce the amount of dust getting into my house? I have to leave windows and doors open because of ventilation/circulation but this then brings in so much dust. I can’t afford air-conditioning yet. Help.
