Does anyone know this quote about scary success?

I remember reading this quotation somewhere (I think in the NY Public Library student planner, actually).

It was something to the tune of ‘there is nothing more frightening than a person who wants to be successful at anything more than passionate about doing something’ or something similar to that.

The general idea of the quotation is that a person who doesn’t have some cause or goal in mind and just wants to be the best at whatever it is he does is not going about it the right way.

Let me know if you can think of anything that sounds like that!
