Why do applications keep randomly closing on my iPhone?

I’ll be minding my own business browsing the Internet or listening to music and I’ll suddenly get thrown back to the front screen… It’s not even after a fixed interval, or after doing one particular thing… Anyone have any similar experiences or know how to stop it?
