Can you help me find the name of a book?

My Dr was telling me about a book that sounded really interesting and I would like to read it the problem is I was half asleep and I cant remember the title for the life of me! What we were discussing is codependency and realizing that you need not be what you are “expected to be”; living your life in a way that you will move towards what you envision your life being one day; and the idea that once you have the knowledge that allows you to be independent you will become invisible to the people who try to pull you back into your old way of life.
