How do I get Audioboo to work properly?

I would like to record my accent for Jude’s accent challenge, but when I make my recording on Audioboo it’s very, very quiet. Like, with the speakers turned up to full volume, you can only just hear that I’m speaking at all. Are there any other settings I need to be adjusting? There is no additional volume conrol on my mic and I’m using Windows 7 with no additional audio software. What do I do to make this recording audible? Is there something else I need to install? Please talk a non-techy person through the process in easy baby-steps?
