What suggestions do you have for removing candle wax from a brick hearth?

Candle wax dripped down from from the fire place mantle. The bulk of it was chipped away. Unfortunately, there is still some residue within the rough surface of the bricks and is noticeable.

I’ve tried using an iron and a hair dryer to warm it up and dab at it with paper towels. Is there anything else you can suggest to get it out?
