If you are watching a live stream of the Democratic convention, what are your reactions?

You can watch here if interested. It’s early yet, when I write this question. I’ve seen Harry Reid, the Democratic women in Congress (which seemed far too reminiscent of a Playboy headline), a Senator from Colorado and Joseph P Kennedy, so far.

They are definitely shipping them through. Now they are doing a movie montage of Ted Kennedy. Also I saw Jimmy Carter. Is that what this is about? The old heros?

What do you think the focus of this convention is? What do you think the role of a convention should be? Is it even relevant any more? Or should we nominate candidates electronically, like the stock exchange?
