I need some advice on a rat in my cupboard?

I’ve spent two crappy nights, because on the first night I could hear it scratching. So anyway long story short, there was the other dead rat that turned up. Which I thought was a random present from my cat.

The issue is, our building needs fumigating due to weather, and also the rubbish bins being kept downstairs, in an alcove. Always have. But because we used to fumigate it was OK.

this is what I have done so far. Boarded up the cupboard, and set a peanut butter trap. Its a tough good one, however today I saw he had managed to eat it, and not set the trap. I replaced it as I think I had the food in the wrong place.

The cat is on guard petrol at night.

Here’s what I cannot do at this time.

call the fumigators (although) I have told the building admin’.
place poison down since there are pets.

any advice? I hope tomorrow he is snapped and dead :(

Presently I cannot access either of my wardrobes due to issues. Wearing and wishing same clothes daily.
