FML: Why do I have mild discomfort in my left testicle?

Asked by poisonedantidote (21675points) March 20th, 2013

Yes, I know, go to the doctor. I will, I am gong there tomorrow. I just want to ask to try and get some “peace of mind” so to speak, because I was foolish enough to Google symptoms, and now I am convinced I have everything from testicular cancer to a small civilization of sadistic extraterrestrials living in there.

The question is, what is the likely reason for mild discomfort in my left testicle?

I am 30 years old, the discomfort is very mild, and is not constant. The discomfort is only there about half hour to one hour out of every 24 hours, it comes and goes, and lasts about 5 seconds to a minute at a time.

There are no lumps, no swelling, no discoloration, I’m not in to CBT or anything like that, and as my girlfriend is away studying I have not had any for a while.

I do still jerk off some times, but there is no pain or discomfort when I do.

This has been going on for about 3 or 4 days now, hence the doctors appointment tomorrow.

What is the likely cause for the discomfort? what is the probability that I will be having a ball chopped off some time soon?

Thanks
