How much should I charge for a personalized CV design service?

Asked by poisonedantidote (21675points) March 28th, 2013

Hi, I am just wondering if anyone can help me figure out a fair price to charge people for a CV design service that I want to provide.

There are literally 100’s of people looking for work in my area at the moment, and I thought maybe I could cash in by offering a CV (resume) design and printing service.

Seeing as I have a computer, a printer, and have completed a course on how to design a good CV, I thought it would be worth a shot. Specially as most people in my area don’t have computers, and if they do they don’t have a printer or don’t know how to make a CV that stands out from the others.

What I am offering in the package:

- 1 on 1 consultation for an hour. At a time and location of the clients choosing. (walking distance, no gas to factor in)

- CV design and creation. (an hours work)

- 100 CVs printed. ($5 ink and paper costs approx, plus 10 minutes printing time)

- Free advice pamphlet on how to present yourself and where to look for work.

There is no such other service on the island I live on, and the average pay in my area is around $5 to $6 an hour.

How much should I charge for this package/service?

BQ: If you did not have a computer, printer, or did not know how to make a CV, would you pay for the service?

Thanks!
