Do you feel safe going for a walk in your neighborhood when it's dark out?

My partner lives alone in Michigan and takes a little bottle of pepper spray when she’s out for a walk. This is during the day even.

Me, I don’t arm myself (ha) whilst out walking during the day. I used to walk when it was dark out (during the summer, when the weather was cooler at night), but now I don’t feel comfortable. I think that my partner has me paranoid.
