Trimming body hair, how much should be left?

Maybe this a dumb question, but very new to trimming or shaving my own body hair.

I am just a very hair person, and I just figured maybe some grooming wouldn’t hurt. Summer is coming and all.

However I am wondering if it is a good idea to leave the slight hair that is left over. It kind of looks like stubble I guess it’d be called, but is still soft to touch. Not noticeable from further away when I looked in mirror, but closer you can tell there is still hair.

Should I try to get it closer to skin, seem weird or odd to have a slight stubble or little like that?
