What does a bad pinto bean look like?

I’m making corn bread n beans. It was drilled into me at some point to carefully rinse and sort the beans and I always have. I think my dad told me that one bad bean can be a disaster. So, I’ve always taken out what looked like “bad beans”....but, I don’t know what one really looks like.
