Should I try and track these people down to get their wedding tapes to them?

In the mid- to late-80’s my husband got this wild hare to open a video production business. I was against it, and it did, in fact, contribute immensely to the demise of our marriage, but that’s another story.

He shot several wedding videos. When I was in it, we had two cameras running then we would create a “Master” on which we’d edit the two tapes together and we put computer graphics to the copy (novel at the time.) We’d keep the master(s)

After we divorced he tried to keep it up, but since he’s an idiot it fizzled (I’ll never forget him asking, about a year and a half later, “Val, what was that tax form thing you used to fill out for taxes?” I said, “The QUARTERLY taxes?” “Yeah.” “You haven’t PAID them??”)
He put equipment and tapes in storage and moved to Seattle. I got a call from some very, VERY distraught people. Apparently they had shipped family photographs to my ex to incorporate into their wedding video, and they’d never gotten the pics back. My heart just went out to them, but there wasn’t anything I could do. I didn’t have access to the storage, and Robin said they weren’t in there anyway (and, in the end, they weren’t.) He swore he had shipped them back.
It was pretty ugly…if they could have sued “us” they would have.

Well, I recently came across 7 Master and “Edited” master tapes. The names, including the bride’s maiden name, are neatly printed on the tapes. I want to try and contact them, because I don’t want the tapes, but I sure don’t want to toss them, either.

However…I’m afraid because of what happened before.

Also…I have NO idea where to start. I poked around on face book, and I think I found a couple, but they turned into dead ends, kind of (I couldn’t message them.)

Any ideas?
