Avatar issue: What pic can you see as I ask this question?

Because when I visit my profile I see no less than 3 different pics!?!
One in the small box where my activity & such lies, another in the larger box where a change of avatar is required & yet another in a teeny wee box denoting which picture has been selected.
I’m about to go cross-eyed here…what gives?
