What would movement around me on the bed be in the dark at night?

I lie very still when I go to bed and most nights I feel the movement like pitta patta of little feet walking around me .one night I asked them to go as I wanted to sleep and instantly it stopped. It came back a couple of nights later. This has been happening now for about 3 months. I have even stopped breathing so my body didn’t move and the little feet kept on moving over the bed very close to me. My doctor has checked my legs for reasons but said I was dreaming and laughed it off. I have never been asleep and it woke me ,it is always happened as I lay there after saying my prayers.
