Why do I feel guilty?

Is it normal for a person to feel guilty for liking someone for a long time? I’ve liked this guy since I met him (actually, 3 days after I met him, which was when we started talking on a daily basis) and I get this guilty feeling in my chest. Honestly, I don’t know what to make of it. I’ve felt guilty for liking him and I regret telling him, mainly because he seemed okay – and careless- to the fact that I told him, and he always liked someone else. He’s the first person (ever) that I’ve liked for longer than a 2 – 3 weeks.. I’ve actually liked him for about 10 months, 2 weeks and 3 days, to be exact. I’ve been trying to get over him, but nothing’s working. He kissed me and seemed interested in me one day, then ever since, we’ve rarely talked after we would have consistently talked all year. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know if this is normal or not, please, please help?
