Skirts and dresses in the US as menswear, would men ever embrace it enough to wear them?

As fashions go, some good ones fade away, some terrible ones, saggy off-the-butt pants seem to never die. If dresses and skirts (even minis), were looked upon as normal menswear in the US somewhere in the future the way slacks on women are now, would men wear them? Would men find feeling a breeze “down there” too foreign for them to embrace wearing dresses? Would men not be comfortable showing that much thigh as in minis? Would it be the lack of usable pockets that men could not give up pants for dresses?
