G.I.Joe 80's action figures date?

Hi, I’ve found several 80’s ¾” GIJoe action figures in a street market; I checked them and they were brand new, the joints are stiff and with no scratchs whatsoever. And the manufacture date inside the leg is from the 80’s, so I think must come from a very careful collector. Anyway, the thing is that the figures are way too new, perfectly neat as if they come right out the box; So I wonder, is there a reedition of this figures? in that case, does the manufacture date displays the original making or the reedition date?
