Why do I feel itchy just being in the presence of ants?

I swear when I know there are ants around I just feel itchy as hell! And they’re not even on me. Why is my body playing tricks on me? Or maybe these ants are shooting stingers into the air and they are landing on me constantly! (Ok I took that one too far, but hey, I’m itchy and I just barely got out of the shower it’s starting up again it’s annoying.)
